A MAJOR lottery prize is set to expire soon if it remains unclaimed.
The lucky $200,000 lottery ticket was purchased at a popular convenience store last year, but the winner only has a few weeks to turn it in.
The ticket is for the Nebraska Pick 5 game and was purchased at a Kwik Stop in Falls City, Nebraska, about 80 miles southeast of Lincoln.
The ticket matched all the winning numbers - 3, 10, 11, 17, and 28 - drawn on December 3, 2023, to score the jackpot prize.
Winning lottery tickets in Nebraska expire 180 days after the drawing.
In this case, the $200,000 prize money is set to expire on Friday, May 31.
The money must be claimed at the Nebraska Lottery Headquarters because the prize amount is over $20,000.
HOW TO PLAY
To participate in the Nebraska Pick 5 game, players select five numbers between one and 40.
Each gameplay costs $1.
The prize amount increases as the amount of matched numbers increases.
The jackpot prize begins at $50,000 and rises by $10,000 for each drawing with no winner.
The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 658,008 while the overall odds of winning any prize are one in 9.2.
There are drawings seven times a week.
