Shiloh readies for important region game with Chamblee
After coming up just short against Region 4-AAAAAA frontrunner Dunwoody last week, Shiloh’s football team returns to action with another important game on Friday. The Generals, currently 30th in the PSR power rankings, can bolster their state playoff chances against a team in a similar position — Shiloh is 5-3 and 4-2 in the region and Chamblee is 4-3 and 3-2. A victory over Chamblee likely puts Shiloh in line for a 7-3 regular season with Game 10 against winless Midtown. Shiloh looks to bounce back from a penalty-plagued loss to Dunwoody that also was marked by struggles against the Wildcats’ rushing attack. The Generals trailed just 14-13 at halftime before falling behind 28-13 in the second half. Despite the loss, Shiloh running back Tyrese Dorsey had another huge game with 26 carries for 227 yards and all three of his team’s touchdowns. Through eight games, the senior has 1,427 rushing yards and 18 TDs, averaging 7.4 yards per carry and 178.4 per game. The production has been possible thanks to a Shiloh offensive line that includes Anthony Wade (25 pancake blocks), Elijah Fowlin, David Quemine, Christopher Baskin and Dillon Lowery. Chamblee Bulldogs (4-AAAAAA) Coach: Bob Swank Record: 4-3, 3-2

Kennesaw Mountain educator makes an impact through sign language and football
At Kennesaw Mountain High School, Diana Jarvis serves students in three roles: American Sign Language instructor, Director of Operations for Mustangs football and interpreter for Deaf athletes. Through each role, she helps build connections, foster inclusion and ensure every student can succeed. Jarvis joined Cobb County School District six years ago through its HOPE (Helping Outstanding People Everyday) Program, which supports students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing or have visual or orthopedic impairments. After four years at Kennesaw Mountain, she began teaching ASL this school year, bringing hearing and Deaf students together through a shared language. Her connection to Mustangs football began when she interpreted for a Deaf senior during his final season. Wanting to continue supporting the team, she approached Head Coach Caleb Carmean, who helped her find a role in the program. Today, as Director of Operations, Jarvis helps manage daily responsibilities so coaches can focus on developing their players. “She is a tireless worker and has a positive attitude in everything she does,” Carmean said. “Her impact on the daily operations of our program is immeasurable.” One of Jarvis’ most meaningful contributions is supporting sophomore linebacker Larenzo Parker, helping him communicate with coaches and teammates
