The winner of last week’s Softball Player of the Week poll was Fairhaven ’s Stella Zangao. She had more than 10,000 votes (30%) to receive the honor.
Against West Bridgewater, Zangao went 4-for-5 with a double and five RBIs.
Previous winners were Dartmouth ’s Paige Martins and Wareham ’s Jolee Anderson and Samantha Purcell. The winner of the Preseason Softball Player of the Year poll was New Bedford ’s Hayleigh Chenard.

Lauren Bernaiche, Apponequet
In two games against New Bedford and GNB Voc-Tech, Bernaiche allowed a combined two runs on 11 hits and three walks while striking out 17. She also went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored against the Bears.
Sarah DelVecchio, Apponequet
In a win over Old Rochester, DelVecchio pitched five innings of shutout ball, allowing three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored.
Christina Magnett, Apponequet
In three games, Magnett went a combined 5-for-10 with three walks, two home runs, five RBIs and eight runs scored.
Morgan Saraceno, Apponequet
Saraceno went a combined 8-for-10 with two walks, five RBIs and five runs scored in three games.
Sophie Brousseau, Bishop Stang
Brousseau went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored against Bourne.
Katie Manzone, Bishop Stang
In a loss to Bourne, Manzone went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Megan Arruda, Dartmouth
Arruda pitched Dartmouth to back-to-back wins over Brockton and New Bedford, allowing a combined two earned runs while walking two and striking out 14.
Paige Martins, Dartmouth
In two games Martins went a combined 6-for-7 with the game-winning RBI against New Bedford.
Olivia Rapoza, Dartmouth
In two games, Rapoza had a combined four hits for Dartmouth.

Arden Bradshaw, Fairhaven
Bradshaw went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lift Fairhaven past West Bridgewater.
Lola Chase, Fairhaven
In a win over West Bridgewater, Chase went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Sydney Merusi, Fairhaven
Merusi had a walk-off double to help Fairhaven beat West Bridgewater 9-8 despite being down 8-5 entering the bottom of the seventh inning.
Ava Morrison, Fairhaven
Not only did Morrison go 2-for-4 with an RBI, she made a highlight play in center field as she caught the ball for the second out and then she threw out the runner at home plate who was tagging up from third to get Fairhaven out of the inning.
Janiah Cooper, GNB Voc-Tech
Cooper had two of Voc-Tech’s six hits against Dighton-Rehoboth.
Belle Almeida, New Bedford
Almeida had a two-run home run in the first inning of New Bedford’s win over Bridgewater-Raynham for coach Harry Lowe’s 600th career victory.
JJ Greene, New Bedford
Against B-R, Greene was 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and three RBIs
Annabelle Huston, New Bedford
In a win over Bridgewater-Raynham, Huston went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Kayleigh DeSousa, Old Colony
In three games, DeSousa went a combined 6-for-11 with eight RBIs and five runs scored. She also had a combined 25 strikeouts on the mound.
Patty Spillane, Old Colony
In two games against Bourne and Norfolk Aggie, Spillane went a combined 4-for-7 with a walk, four RBIs and four runs scored.
Jolee Anderson, Wareham
Anderson went a combined 8-for-14 with eight RBIs and seven runs scored. She had a home run against Westport. On the mound, she struck out 12 against Holbrook.
Sawyer Boutin, Wareham
In four games, Boutin went a combined 6-for-7 with eight RBIs and seven runs scored.
Madison Nereu, Wareham
In four games, Nereu went a combined 6-for-12 with an RBI and seven runs scored. She had six strikeouts on the mound against Monomoy, including the 200th of her career. She also struck out six against Westport and seven against Holbrook.
