Lancaster man dies in Fairfield County single-vehicle crash
LANCASTER — On Tuesday, May 14, at approximately 3:10 a.m., the Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a call of a single vehicle, injury crash that occurred on state Route 37 near state Route 204. A 2013 GMC Terrain, operated by Mr. Derrick Davis, 32, of Lancaster, was traveling north on state Route 37 near state Route 204 and went off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck a ditch and an embankment, then rolled over. Mr. Davis was not wearing his safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation. Other agencies on site included Walnut Township Fire/EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, Fairfield County Coroner’s Office, and Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.
