Today’s strong winds will slowly die down overnight. High temperatures will be slightly cooler to end the week before warming up again this weekend. High winds have developed Wednesday afternoon all across New Mexico. Some areas have even seen wind gusts over 60 mph today. For many areas, temperatures were very similar to yesterday, if not even warmer. Roswell made it into the mid 80s this afternoon. But a cold front is also sweeping across the state with these winds and will bring in slightly cooler temperatures behind it. Winds will slowly die down overnight. Lighter winds are in store for Thursday, with high temperatures hovering near and still slightly warmer than average for this time of year. This will be a similar story Friday.

The East Mountains have another craft beer option at long last. JUNO officially announced the opening of their long-awaited Edgewood taproom, something that was first mentioned back when the former Dialogue Brewing was rebranded after the pandemic lockdown. It’s just a soft opening for now, with daily hours from 4 to 9 p.m. The kitchen will open in a few weeks, and live music should start up eventually. For now, they have beer, wine, cider, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. The taproom is located at 1913 U.S. Route 66, in between the post office to the west, and both Rich Ford and the iconic Pizza Barn to the north. From Interstate 40, hop off at Exit 187. Authorities Seize 271 lbs. of Illegal Drugs at New Mexico and Texas Border
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Paso Del Norte Border Crossing, intercepted 37 pounds of fentanyl in three separate failed smuggling attempts in less than 48 hours. And in the same El Paso Sector, New Mexico Border Agents at the Ysleta Port of Entry thwarted multiple smuggling attempts in early February. With four failed smuggling attempts at the Ysleta Port of Entry in El Paso, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized around 225 pounds of narcotics. The seizures included bundles of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana and occurred during inspections on February 6th and February 9th, 2024.
