WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two men are facing 10 felony charges and several misdemeanors after allegedly getting caught with stolen property in Macomb County. According to authorities, deputies were dispatched to the Enclave Apartments in Washington Township on reports of a suspicious vehicle at about 9 a.m., May 14. The sheriff’s department said they made contact with Derek Russell, 26, and Dakwan Young, 24, who were reportedly in a car that smelled like marijuana.

Father charged after boy, 8, shoots himself with unsecured gun in Macomb County
WARREN, MI – The father of an eight-year-old boy who shot himself with his father’s gun has been charged in Macomb County. Theo Nichols, 56, is accused of improperly storing his handgun, which led to his young son shooting himself at the Cove on 10 Apartment Complex near Hoover Road and 10 Mile Road in Warren on April 19.

Scott Smith from St. Clair County and a friend were fishing back on April 25 on Lake St. Clair when he reeled in his 2 pound, 5.92 ounces perch measuring 16.25 inches.
