I had lunch at Billy B's Cajun Grill in DeSoto Parish. Here's everything that I tried.
I went to lunch at Billy B’s Cajun Grill in Mansfield, a popular local spot that opened in 2011, and here’s everything I tried off the expansive menu. Billy B’s, a mainly Cajun restaurant at 13147 US-171, was packed when I walked in with my dad, but we were quickly escorted to a booth with a table decorated with local business ads.

Trader Joe’s Named America’s #1 Grocer for 2026, Why is Shreveport Still Waiting?
Trader Joe’s will forever be one of my favorite places on Earth. It’s the ultimate grocery store for people who actually enjoy grocery shopping, those of us who love hunting for new seasonal treasures and artisanal snacks without needing a second mortgage to pay for them. Between the risk-free return policy and that "Two-Buck Chuck" charm, the atmosphere is actually fun. No coupons, no membership cards it's just pure, snack-fueled joy.

The struggles and triumphs of two grassroots activists from Northeast Louisiana are spotlighted in a documentary now available to stream. "North Louisiana Rising: Two Women − No Fear" follows Shreveport activists Breka Peoples and Omari Ho-Sang as they navigate the challenges of grassroots organizing and activism. Produced by Eugene Weatherspoon Collins, the documentary chronicles their real-life struggles, including unlawful arrests and public character attacks, while highlighting their commitment to social change in Louisiana. Peoples said seeing her work documented is emotional because it comes with real consequences. In 2020, Peoples said she was arrested for marching to the polls with over 100 Black men exercising what she stated should be a protected right. She said seeing her work documented isn't about recognition but truth. "It shows that organizing isn't symbolic or safe it can cost your freedom, your peace, Peoples said she hopes viewers understand that justice doesn't move forward without risk. She stated she wanted people to see that voting rights, youth advocacy, and community power aren't handed out but fought for by people who are willing to be uncomfortable and vulnerable. "And I hope it pushes people to move past applause and into action because the work doesn't
