The driver of a 2010 Ford Expedition, identified as Patricia McBride, 67, of Marshall, was driving west on I-20 when somehow, she drove off the road and hit a tree.

A 41-year-old California man with an extensive criminal history was arrested Tuesday after leading Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on a chase in a stolen truck. According to a DPS arrest affidavit, two troopers spotted a Ford F350 with fictitious tags on Interstate Highway 20 near FM 1936. When they tried to pull the driver over, he refused and the troopers saw him throw a .45 caliber Glock out of the passenger-side window 10 miles into the pursuit. He pulled over about a mile later.

HARRISON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A suspect was arrested in Harrison County for allegedly smuggling four people across the country. Rene Eduardo Escobar, 34, of Pasadena, was stopped by an officer around 2:45 a.m. for a defective license plate light according to an arrest document. The document said that the officer noticed four additional occupants through the dark tinted glass. Once the windows were rolled down, the officer noticed that the passengers were covered in mud.

LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - A 30 year veteran of the Great Texas Balloon race is being remembered after his passing on Thursday. He was involved with the Great Texas Balloon Race since 1990, eventually serving on the board of directors. Larry Aldridge died today after an illness. On May 29, 2023, at approximately 5:03 p.m., Longview Police responded to a crash near the intersection of the 3100 block of North Eastman Road and Fourth Street. Callie Bearden (19) from Longview was driving a white Chevrolet Sonic with one passenger at a high rate of speed traveling southbound on South Eastman Road. The vehicle failed to stop and struck another vehicle. The crash involved five (5) vehicles. Callie Bearden was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Shelby Partain (32), a passenger in a silver Dodge Charger was transported to a local hospital and died from her injuries. Nine (9) other occupants were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
