Red Lobster in Stony Brook closes; chain on brink of bankruptcy
The Red Lobster in Stony Brook is one of 10 New York restaurants in the seafood chain that have abruptly closed amid the debt crisis bearing down on the franchise. The Stony Brook location — which shares a Nesconset Highway shopping center with Burlington, Marshall’s, Planet Fitness and Showcase Cinemas, among other businesses — is listed as being “temporarily closed” every day on its website and on its Facebook page.
