First Squad Detectives report the arrests of three (3) Freeport men for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 2:34 am in Freeport. According to Detectives, Freeport Police Officers were notified of a shot spotter incident in the vicinity of Main Street and Leonard Avenue. An officer in close proximity when the call was dispatched observed a grey 2008 Honda CRV with dark tinted windows flee the location of the shooting at a high rate of speed. The Public Information Office reports the arrest of an Old Bethpage man for Driving While Intoxicated that occurred on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 5:14 pm in Bethpage. According to detectives, Bureau of Special Operations Officers responded to 150 Main Street for a vehicle into a building. Upon arrival it was determined that a single vehicle had struck the 7-11 store front window pane, causing it to break. The operator of the vehicle had fled the scene in a red Toyota 4Runner prior to police arrival. A short time later, the fleeing vehicle was involved in a collision with a 2017 Grey Subaru Sedan being operating by a 46-year-old female at the intersection of Conklin Ave and Main Street in Farmingdale.
