Jacksonville police say remains found in 2023 identified as missing man
JACKSONVILLE, Texas (KLTV) - Police say human remains found in Jacksonville in 2023 have been identified. According to Jacksonville Police Chief Joe Williams, human bones were collected along Burma Road in August of 2023 and sent to the UNT forensic anthropology lab, where they were recently identified as a man reported missing the previous year.

Westwood's Mia Wiele earns all-state soccer honors for second straight year
Two Westwood girls who have made the Warriors consistent winners the past few years have earned first-team all-state soccer honors. The all-state team, selected by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches, includes Westwood goalkeeper Sam Walker and Warriors midfielder Mia Wiele. Walker was credited with 87 saves and nine shutouts for a team that finished 14-3-4 overall and 11-1-2 in District 25-6A. Wiele, who earned all-state honors for the second straight year, led the Warriors with 14 goals and 15 assists.
BMS Softball Team Falls To Westwood, 19-8
On Wednesday, the BMS Lady Braves traveled to Granville to play the Westwood Lady Warriors in middle school softball action. Westwood defeated BMS by the score of 19-8. The Lady Braves opened the scoring in the top of the first. Olivia Bell started the game with a walk, a steal of second advanced to third on an overthrow. She scored on a wild pitch.
