Magic sends small army to state track and field meet
After crushing the regular season, the Monticello track and field teams crushed it once again at the Section 5AA Track and Field Championships last week. The Magic hosted the section meet at Monticello High School. The prelims began on Tuesday, May 28 with the finals taking place on Thursday, May 30. The Maple Grove track and field teams traveled to St. Michael-Albertville High School last week for the 2024 Track and Field Class 3A Track and Field Championships. Man dies after ATV mishap in Garrison
GARRISON, Minn. — A man from Becker is dead after an ATV he was riding in left the roadway and overturned late Saturday. The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office says squads were dispatched around 9:40 p.m. to the 26000 block of Linden St. in Garrison on reports of a crash involving a single ATV. When deputies arrived they found that a four-wheeler with two people aboard left the roadway and rolled.
Brooklyn Park censures second councilmember
The Brooklyn Park City Council has censured a second councilmember. Councilmember Maria Tran will be barred from certain councilmember activities following an investigation that concluded Tran exhibited hostile behavior in the treatment of an employee.
