'Loud and clear': Folsom city officials hear community feedback on homelessness
Folsom city officials say they want to make it "inconvenient" to be homeless in their community. During this week’s city council meeting, Mayor Mike Kozlowski reported back on findings of a “listening session” he and Vice Mayor Sarah Aquino held April 11 with community members. During that session, about 90 Folsom residents provided feedback on how the city can best confront its growing homeless problem. Kozlowski called the session “fantastic” and said it provided great feedback. While there were vastly differing views on how the city should address its homeless problem, Kozlowski said there was one common thread:
Woman reportedly injured near Folsom crash
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — A woman was injured in a car collision Wednesday morning near Folsom, according to dispatcher radio communications. EMS was dispatched around 7:07 a.m. to the crash site on westbound Highway 50 near the offramp Folsom Boulevard. A car was reportedly rear-ended by another vehicle at about 35 mph. A woman was then taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

Motorcyclist dies after crashing into SUV in Carmichael
CARMICHAEL, Calif. — A man riding a motorcycle died in a crash in Carmichael on Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP said the man was riding down northbound Walnut Avenue at high speeds at the same time a woman was driving an Acura SUV southbound. The SUV driver, a woman in her 20s, had a green light to turn left onto Robertson but the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, ran a red light and t-boned the SUV.

The Folsom City Council was scheduled to accept a state grant this week for a roundabout study.
