Readers say this restaurant has the best Fox Cities fish fry, here's why
The Appleton Post-Crescent asked our readers who has the best fish fry in the Fox Cities and out of more than 60 submissions Camelot Bar and Grill received the most. Originally the third location of the Camelot franchise, the restaurant at 1700 E. Wisconsin Ave. in Appleton is now the last one standing. Owner Brian Striegel began working at the Appleton location in 1994 and in 1997 he purchased it from its original owners. Striegel said although fish-fry dinners have always been served at Camelot, since he took over, the variety and availability have expanded. "We've just expanded it so now it's available four days a week,“ Striegel said. From Wednesday through Saturday, customers can enjoy Camelot's fish-fry menu, which has earned several awards in Best of the Valley and high praises from our readers. "Food is always fresh and hot, light breading on fish and great fries or potato salad," said reader Carlarae Day. "The staff is friendly, helpful and speedy. Great place to meet friends for a good meal and a fun time." "Hands down the best tasting fried perch I've tried in the Fox Valley," said reader Tony Knuppel. "The fish is lightly breaded and lightly fried
