N.J. casino authority names former sheriff, Atlantic City cop as new director
Former Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler was recently named the executive director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. Scheffler was elected sheriff in 2017 and re-elected three years later before the Democrat was voted out in November. Prior serving as sheriff, he worked as a police officer in Atlantic City for 23 years, retiring in as a lieutenant in 2015. His annual pension is $75,098.64, according to pension recods.

Ocean City Walking Club Strolls the Boards on Fridays
The Ocean City Walking Club, which was formed last summer, returns this year and invites everybody to join weekly walks on the Boardwalk on Friday mornings. People of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to meet outside the Ocean City Music Pier at 9 a.m. each Friday to walk the length of the Boardwalk.

Skeletal remains discovered outside Atlantic City three years ago have been identified as a Staten Island man last seen alive in 2011, authorities said Monday. MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic County Institute of Technology senior has what you need to get a better night’s sleep. Ryan Johnson of Egg Harbor Township, a Computer Science student in the vocational technical school, took first place in the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District. Johnson was recently recognized by the Board of Education for his success in creating “Circadian,” an app that can help manage sleep schedules and provide you with tips on how to get more restful nights.
