Officials have recovered the artwork that someone stole from last weekend’s East Lansing Art Festival .

The artist, Chad Anderson, said he got a phone call from East Lansing Police Department, saying they had found both of his sculptures not far from the festival, which took place in downtown East Lansing.

“They found it, like, three blocks north of the art show,” Anderson said. “I think it was just some kids that had a little too much liquid courage, thought it’d be funny carrying it three blocks; it is kind of heavy, so I’m sure they were like, ‘It’s not even worth it’…I was just happy to get it back; you know, a lot of time, so it will save me time to keep building more sculptures, you know.”

It’s a $7,000 find for Anderson, who spent three weeks crafting each sculpture.
