Man arrested for drunk driving after MSP received tip he was upset, had gun
Michigan State Police say a 28-year-old man from Lansing was arrested for drunk driving in Grand Traverse County. Troopers got a tip that he was upset with a business in Blair Township and was headed there with a gun. Deputies and troopers were able to find his car and pulled him over. The man did have an uncased gun, but it was not loaded. He was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, having open alcohol in the car, and for improper storage of his gun. Police say there is no danger to the public, and no specific threats were made against the business in Blair Township.
Teenager shot over the weekend in 'road rage incident' in East Lansing
EAST LANSING - One teenager was shot over the weekend in what police are calling a "road rage incident." The male teenager was shot in the neck while he was driving a vehicle north in the 1000 block of Coolidge Road, East Lansing Police Capt. Chad Pride said. The shooter was in another vehicle.
East Lansing Police Seek Public's Help in Locating Suspect of Saturday Night Shooting on Coolidge Road
The East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) in Michigan is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, September 23. The incident, believed to be a result of road rage, left one victim injured on Coolidge Road north of Saginaw Street. The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was treated at the scene before being transported to Sparrow Hospital. They have since been discharged.
Police de-escalate man with mental health crisis on Haslett Road
HASLETT, Mich. (WILX) - East Lansing Police helped de-escalate an incident where a person was having a mental crisis in the area of Haslett Road. According to officials, ELPD received a call about a subject walking on the sidewalk with a long gun but was not pointing it at anyone or making threats. Officers arrived on the scene and found the person without the long gun on the 1700 block of Haslett Road.
Lansing Man Sentenced for Assault
Darik Edwin Anderson of Lansing pleaded guilty on July 24, 2023, to Police Officer-Assault/Resist/Obstruct, as a habitual 4th offender. He was sentenced Sept. 18 by Judge Tara Hovey to a prison term of 2 years to 15 years, with credit for 196 days already served. He was also ordered to pay a total of $698 in fines, costs and fees.

Two people die in the hospital after car crash in Eaton Township
EATON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - Two people are dead after a car crash on Lansing Road Saturday morning. On Sept. 23, at 10 a.m., Eaton County Sheriff Deputies responded to a crash near Kinsel Highway in the area of Eaton Township. When they arrived they found a Kia Soul and a Ford Taurus that collided with each other while going north and southbound on Lansing Road.
