Canadian motorcyclist dies following crash near East Glacier Park mid-July
GLACIER COUNTY, Mont. - A 75-year-old man succumbed to his injuries from a motorcycle crash that occurred on July 14, Montana Highway Patrol announced Friday. A release from MHP states a man from Biggar, Saskatchewan riding a Kawasaki Cruiser failed to negotiate a turn on Highway 49 near mile marker eight, causing him to go off the road to the right.

Stephen Earl Vaile, 77, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 with his wife Randina by his side. Services were held on Monday, July 22, at 11:00 AM at Kuper Memorial Cemetery. Stephen was born on October 20, 1946 in Browning, MT. He resided in Browning with his grandparents for much of his early life, before moving to Joplin where he graduated from High School. He then joined the Airforce, leaving right after graduation. After the military, he worked selling cars in California, owned a vehicle leasing company in Colorado, and worked for IBM in Atlanta, GA. He retired from IBM as a project manager. Stephen was also a VFW chaplain in Red Lodge and had 52 years of sobriety with AA.

In partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense, the Blackfeet Tribal Health Department will host a 10-day medical and veterinary clinic, free and open to the public. The clinic, called Blackfeet Tribal Health Operation Walking Shield, will be held at Browning High School from July 18 to July 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
