Rachel Hartdegen, previously the managing editor of the Rome News-Tribune, has been named executive editor of the newspaper. “I am honored to take on the mantle of executive editor,” Hartdegen said. Before moving into this position, Hartdegen served as managing editor of the Rome News-Tribune for eight months and previously worked as the paper’s education reporter. “I have had the privilege of working at the Rome News-Tribune for more than two years and during my time at the paper, I have met incredible people and had the opportunity to share beautiful stories about the people and places that make this city great,” Hartdegen said. “I look forward to bringing that same passion to this new role and continuing to serve Rome and Floyd County, just in a slightly different capacity.” “We are excited to announce the promotion of Rachel Hartdegen from managing editor to executive editor,” Doug Crow, Northwest Georgia market president and VP of production for the Rome News-Tribune, said. “Rachel has demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to quality journalism and a dedication to the communities we serve.
