ELIZABETH, NJ - Elizabeth High School was ranked 23rd in the state in U.S. News.com’s 2024 rankings. The list covers all high schools in New Jersey. 14-year-old arrested in slashing of man, 19, at shopping plaza on Staten Island
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the slashing of a 19-year-old at a popular shopping center in Eltingville. The assault occurred in front of the Greenridge Plaza at 3275 Richmond Ave. on Tuesday at about 6:55 p.m., according to a spokesman for the NYPD.
New ShopRite opening in South Plainfield hiring for 200 jobs
The new ShopRite in South Plainfield which is expected to open next month is looking to fill hundreds of full- and part-time positions. The state-of-the-art supermarket, currently under construction in the Hadley Commons Plaza, 6781 Hadley Road, is looking to hire an additional 200 employees ahead of the store’s anticipated opening this spring. Applications are being accepted for positions including bookkeeper, cake decorator, manager, cashiers, clerks and other team members for departments across the store.

Pedestrian Killed South Amboy
The man's name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, South Amboy police said on Wednesday, April 24. On Wednesday, April 17 at approximately 4:15 p.m. South Amboy police responded to the intersection of South Broadway and John Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Police found a male victim lying in the roadway and began life-saving efforts. The victim was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
