Ever since Alexxis Ellison was in college, she's wanted to run a coffee shop that served her own scratch-made baked goods. She's opened something pretty close − but with more of an emphasis on the baked goods − in the Village of Caledonia, Livingston County. The offerings change seasonally but you'll usually find banana bread, mini cheesecakes, cake slices, coffee cake, muffins, loaves and more. The sweet treats may be enjoyed with hot and cold espresso beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos and Americanos. The inviting space is decorated in pink and red, and gold chandeliers flood the room with light. Orders are placed at a counter and there's seating for up to 16 people. The shop also offers special-order cakes for special occasions such as weddings. The story behind Baby Cakes Bakeshop Alexxis Ellison has fond memories of all things cooking while growing up in Hilton. Her father has a VHS tape of her baking a Barbie cake with him at age 4.
