McDonald's hosting Give Back Day benefitting 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — McDonald’s is hosting a Give Back Day benefitting the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle. On April 30, a portion of sales from participating McDonald’s locations in Amarillo, Canyon, Dumas, Dalhart, and Borger will be donated to the regional non-profit, which is dedicated to providing assistance to the families of certified peace officers and firefighters killed or injured in the line of duty.
Memorial Hospice celebrates lives of patients recently passed
“There is really no formula, no right way or wrong way to go through the grieving process,” said Sam Eaton, the pastor of Life Tabernacle Church of Dumas Sunday afternoon. Eaton was speaking to family members of some of the 46 patients of Memorial Hospice who had died in the past year. Eaton was the featured speaker of a Celebration of Life ceremony that the staff and volunteers put on Sunday afternoon in the Life Tabernacle Church to remember and honor those who had died and to remind their family members that “we are still here to support them in the first year after they have lost their loved one,” according to Caleb McCutchen, the director of Memorial Home Health and Hospice.

FRITCH, Texas (KFDA) - Lake Meredith officials and Southern Plains Fire Group planned a prescribed burn in three areas around Lake Meredith’s northeast side. “What we’re going to try to do is get some of these areas burned to help protect both our infrastructure that we have here at the lake and also the communities so that when you do have wildfires come in, you’ll have these buffer zones that have already been burned,” said Eric Smith, Superintendent at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area & Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument.
