UPDATE: Lieut. Alvin Peavler of the Jasper County Sheriff's Office tells KOAM's Shannon Becker the situation was resolved the man was not injured. One of their JASCO negotiators talked to the man for a period of time and he came away from the edge of the bridge. I-44 traffic resumed about 8:38 p.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Joplin, Mo., Police Captain has been honored for heroic actions he took during a 2022 shooting spree that took the lives of two of his coworkers.
