Softball Game Recap: Plainview-Elgin-Millville Takes a Loss
Plainview-Elgin-Millville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 10-4 to the Dover-Eyota Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Plainview-Elgin-Millville of the 9-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Med City Marathon's new finish line is highlighting downtown Rochester
ROCHESTER, Minn. - Runners are getting ready and set for the 28th annual Med City Marathon this weekend. Organizers say they are expecting about 2,700 runners to participate. Its a Boston qualifying course- meaning its pulling runners not only here in Rochester but also Chicago and Minneapolis. The race itself has seen its fair share of tribulations from a global pandemic to extreme weather and this year, organizers are pleased to know that this weekend is forecasted to be perfect conditions for running.
Softball Game Preview: Chatfield Hits the Road
Chatfield is 9-1 against Plainview-Elgin-Millville since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Chatfield Gophers are on the road again to play the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Chatfield's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Plainview-Elgin-Millville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
5th grade track and field event helps create healthy lifestyles
ROCHESTER, Minn. - Fifth grade students from every school in Rochester competed in a track and field event on May 16 at Mayo High School. Students participated in a variety of track and field events including the 400 meter, javelin throw, and frisbee toss. These kids have been preparing for this meet for a long time.

Amira Williams went 3-3 and had two RBIs, while Rylee Sietsema pitched a shutout and struck out 10 batters, as Faribault girls blew out Rochester John Marshall 16-0 in a fourth inning mercy rule win. Rochester Academy for Independent Living hosts Unified Sports Day
ROCHESTER, Minn. - Around 70 Rochester Academy for Independent Living students (RAIL) and 15 students from other Rochester High Schools participated in this event. Some of the sports played were basketball, bowling and long distance football throwing. Teacher Lori Jensen says sports day is a great way to bring people of all abilities together.
