Mower County woman pleads not guilty for violent attack on her boyfriend
AUSTIN, Minn. – A woman accused of attacking her boyfriend with a knife and a chair is pleading not guilty. Nikki Rae Heitland, 35 of Grand Meadow, was arrested in February and charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and third-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm. She entered a not guilty plea Monday and is now set to stand trial beginning May 1.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - One person died following a suspected overdose while another person was hospitalized as a rash of overdoses continue to hit the area. The fatal overdose was reported Saturday at 1:33 a.m. in the 200 block of 18th St. SW. when a 35-year-old man was found by his roommate. Drug paraphernalia was found near his body and an autopsy is being conducted.
Rochester Police Respond to Two Weekend Drug Overdoses, One Fatal
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department responded to two drug overdoses over the weekend, one of which resulted in the death of a Rochester man. Police Sgt. Tony Teal said the first overdose of the weekend was reported shortly after 1:30 Saturday morning in the 200 block of 18th Ave. Southwest. Police were called to the residence by a roommate of the overdose victim.
