Day 5 of Catch 22: Yavapai Silent Witness Seeks Information on Fugitive Joshua Fernandez
It’s day 5 of Yavapai Silent Witness’ Catch 22 Program. Today Yavapai County Law Enforcement is asking for your help in locating fugitive Joshua Fernandez. In March of 2022 Officers with the Chino valley Police Department arrested Fernandez for a valid warrant and theft that occurred in Prescott. When officers arrived at Fernandez residence and discovered he was attempting to hide from them in one of the bedrooms. As they attempted to place him into custody Fernandez began resisting the arrest and one of the officers sustained minor injuries. He was charged with aggravated assault against the law enforcement officers and resisting arrest.

Prescott Valley Police ask the Public’s Help to Locate a Runaway Juvenile. The Prescott Valley Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a runaway juvenile, Gilberto Osorio, who was last seen on July 23, 2024 on E Frank Lane, Prescott Valley. He is a 17-year old Hispanic male, 5’11”, 140 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing baggy black jeans, a white T-shirt, red/white Jordan shoes, carrying a red backpack and a gray backpack.

Chino Valley Police Chief Chuck Wynn Announces Retirement
7/26 Chino Valley Police Chief Chuck Wynn announced his plans to retire after 34-years in law enforcement; 22-years of which were served in Chino Valley. Wynn started his law enforcement career in Florida and then decided to move closer to family, which brought him to Arizona. After spending his first few months in Chino Valley as a patrol officer, he was assigned to the Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking or PANT as a detective for 2-years before being promoted to the role of Sergeant. When Chief Pat Huntsman retired in 2011, Wynn was appointed Interim Chief, before being appointed chief by the town council in 2012. His last day as Chief is August 15-th. Joshua McIntire will be acting Chief when Wynn retires.

Heroic Actions of Prescott Valley Girl Praised by Firefighters
A Prescott Valley girl is being praised by local firefighters for her heroic actions. On July 3, 2024, while playing outdoors at her grandmother’s home on Horizon Way in Prescott Valley, Arizona, Brogan McFadden smelled smoke. She immediately told family members who were also outside, but they initially dismissed her concerns, attributing the smell to a BBQ or another harmless source. Undeterred, Brogan insisted that she indeed smelled smoke and that 9-1-1 should be called.
Vehicle Fire Closes State Route 89 in Chino Valley
On 12/20/2021 at approximately 4:32 pm Chino Valley Police Officers responded to a vehicle fire at State Route 89 and Road 4 South. Upon arrival Officers saw a 1987 Ford F150 fully engulfed in flames. Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority arrived and extinguished the flames. The driver of the vehicle was able to safely exit the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

Understanding Impact Fees in Prescott
I urge all concerned citizens to participate in the Aug. 13 public hearing and subsequent public discussions. On Aug. 13, Prescott City Council will hold a public hearing regarding proposed impact fees affecting new residential and commercial projects. If council decides to move forward, we will have an Oct. 8 meeting to formally adopt the new rates, which would go into effect Jan. 1, 2025. There have been some concerns expressed about the steep increase in these fees. In this message, I will outline the factors that have made this kind of increase necessary.

In March of 2022 Chino Valley Police arrested Fernandez for a valid warrant and theft that occurred in Prescott. During his arrest, he fought with officers, causing minor injuries.
