Panthers pound Man, to host Tolsia in sectional finals
NAUGATUCK – The Tug Valley and Man high school boys' basketball teams have played in some classic games over the years. Back in the delayed 2021 season, the Panthers beat the Hillbillies in the Class A sectional championship game at Logan's Willie Akers Arena, the Panthers' Joby Sorrell drilled a three-pointer at the buzzer, lifting Tug to a 53-50 victory over Man. Both teams then advanced to the state tournament where the Billies would go all the way to win the state championship.
