KANDU Industries launches Giving Campaign fundraiser
MILTON — KANDU Industries has launched its annual Giving Campaign fundraiser. The initiative will help it sustain its programs and services that provide opportunities for people with disabilities and older adults. KANDU provides a variety of services like jobs for people with disabilities, aging solutions and volunteering. Government funding through Medicaid, program fees, grants and production, and service contracts help support operations, but it is not enough to cover services and programs. There is still a gap. That funding covers only about 60-70% of KANDU’s expenditures annually. KANDU needs fundraising through the year, including the Giving Campaign, to help bridge that gap. Executive Director Kathy Hansen said there is no specific benchmark year-to-year for fundraising goals. There was a “big contribution” in 2025 that made it less difficult to raise funds. The campaign typically leads to donations anywhere between $5 and $5,000. “It’s really these types of things in our fundraisers that are really important and an essential part of KANDU so that we can provide the programs that we do for people with disabilities,” Hansen said.
