Habitat for Humanity ready to place two more homes
WAUSAU – The first of two homes recently built by high school students in trades classes will move to the city of Wausau on May 22 thanks to Habitat for Humanity of Wausau. One home was built in partnership with Mosinee High School and the other was built in partnership with D.C. Everest Senior High. WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -A Wausau music school wants you to come and learn about different cultures and varieties of music, and maybe find yourself a new genre. It’s called the World Beats: International Concert Series. You can go to the Wausau Conservatory of Music on Tuesday night in the Caroline S Mark Concert Hall, and hear a talented pianist play some tunes. This month’s featured musician is Rie Tanaka. She is a Japanese artist and was born in Osaka. She currently lives in Arizona but is known here in the Wausau area. She will be playing a few different genres from her culture.
Wausau Conservatory of Music hires new executive director
WAUSAU – The Wausau Conservatory of Music has hired Susan Bender as its new executive director, effective June 1, the conservatory announced today. Bender has served as professor of music at University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point for 21 years. Additionally, she will bring with her knowledge of program development and faculty artist recruitment, and she will help WCM continue its mission of providing exceptional music education and performances that enrich the lives of students, families and the community.
