City seeks feedback on proposed ATV/UTV ordinance
ANTIGO, Wis (WJFW) - Antigo is hoping that allowing ATV and UTV traffic on city streets will increase traffic in local businesses. The City of Antigo’s Code of Ordinances, proposed Chapter 38 would allow operation on city streets for any purpose. While the proposal has been met with a lot of support, city leaders want to give everyone a chance to speak up.

Elcho Area Health Planning participates in Culver's Share program
ELCHO — The Elcho Area Health Planning program participated in the Culver’s Share program on Tuesday, Nov. 21 to aid in the funding for the Elcho Bike/Hike Trail. The funds raised will help go towards the design work that is currently underway for the trail going south of Elcho to County Highway B along the old railroad grade and north of town to the wayside by Otter Lake. Once completed, the trail will provide a safe pathway off Highway 45 for both bicyclists and pedestrians. The construction of the trail on the north side is scheduled for 2025 when Highway 45 is reworked going through Elcho. Anyone who would like more information can go to the website EAPinc.org.

Wittenberg Firearm Incident: Unresolved
SHAWANO, WI- The case involving a Wittenberg woman accused of pointing a firearm at children in May remains unresolved after a hearing on Nov. 21 at the Shawano County Courthouse. Defense attorney Joseph Kaupie cited the need for more time due to District Attorney Greg Parker’s health-related leave, with Assistant District Attorney Laura Nelson catching up on the case. Mindy S. Leeder, 35, faces charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and disorderly conduct. If convicted, she could incur fines and prison time. The incident unfolded at Pond Park, with Leeder allegedly confronting children who she believed were bullying her own. Witnesses claim she pointed a loaded firearm, prompting law enforcement involvement. Leeder, free on bond, will have a final pre-trial hearing on Feb. 21.
