Wood County Adult Learning Center accepting used book donations
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The Wood County Adult Learning Center is currently accepting donations of used books. According to Deanna Adis, an adult education instructor, these donations will be collected to help the learning center with one of its projects during Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, which will take place Sept. 16 through Sept. 20.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - We have been dealing with the chance of rain for much of the week across the Mid-Ohio Valley. Now, a cold front has finally passed through and drier air continues to move in this morning. This is going to lead to a very comfortable Friday. Temperatures this morning are starting off a lot cooler with most of the region sitting in the low to mid-60s. As we move through the day, the sunshine will warm us back up into mid-80s. However, with less humidity in the air, this will keep us overall pleasant as we climb into the 80s.

State Police conducting sobriety checkpoint on W.Va. 47
PARKERSBURG – The Parkersburg detachment of the West Virginia State Police, in conjunction with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint from 8 p.m. tonight until 2 a.m. Saturday, on West Virginia 47 near Parkersburg, in the vicinity of the detachment.
