PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Voters in Vienna and Parkersburg will decide whether to renew a long-standing levy that funds the Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority. Transit Authority General Manager Michael Kesterson said the levy has been in place consistently for some time. “The Transit Authority started back in 1976,” Kesterson said. “There was previous transportation for Parkersburg, but the Transit Authority, it was in 1976. They went to the cities in Vienna and Parkersburg and got the levies stated. And it’s been every year up till now. Always passed except for, I think, one time back in the ‘80s maybe or sometime.”

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Some showers and gusty winds pushed through the Mid-Ohio Valley last night ahead of a cold front. That has now passed through and kicked out any shower activity for the morning commute. Roads are drying out but will be a bit damp as the sun rises this morning. Cloud cover will be ample this morning but will diminish to partly cloudy skies before the lunchtime hour and continue into the afternoon. Temperatures will be on the mild side to start with 50s across the region, but with the cold front passing by, we will not warm up that much this afternoon.
