Woman crossing street struck, killed in DC crash
WASHINGTON — A pedestrian has died after being hit by the driver of a vehicle in Northwest D.C. early Thursday. Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department say a woman was crossing the street, while not in a crosswalk, on 16th Street Northwest, nearby Rock Creek Park Holly Trail, just before 3 a.m. A vehicle traveling northbound on the road then hit her.

Man injured in stabbing in downtown Bethesda
A man was stabbed early Thursday in downtown Bethesda after trying to intervene in the theft of a laptop from another victim, according to Montgomery County police. Officers responded to a report of a stabbing near Norfolk and Woodmont avenues after midnight, according to police radio transmissions and police spokesperson Shiera Goff.
