He was a fake priest who was wanted for stealing from several churches in Dallas and Houston. Now we've learned he's finally been busted in California.

He truly was a criminal that struck nationally. Police reports say 45-year-old Malin Rostas, also known as "Father Martin," was arrested in Riverside County, California this week after being on the run for over a year.

Authorities said they took him into custody for an outstanding felony warrant for burglary out of Pennsylvania. He will also face additional charges for the attempted burglary in Moreno Valley, which is just east of Los Angeles.

But Rostas is well known in Texas. He disguised himself as Father Martin and was able to gain access to churches in Houston, as well as 5 in the Dallas area including a Farmers Branch church.

Rostas, who police say is originally from New York, is believed to have targeted multiple parishes around the country.

Anyone with more information is asked to call police.
