(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An unlicensed daycare operator in suburban Crystal Lake has been taken into custody over accusations that she injured an 11-month-old boy under her watch.

According to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County’s Circuit Court, prosecutors have accused Ann Migliorato of strangling an 11-month-old baby and fractured one of his ribs.

Police said the child’s injuries were not life-threatening but did require medical attention.

Migliorado, 61, was charged with aggravated battery to a child causing great bodily harm, which is a class X felony,  and operating a childcare facility without a license, which is a class A misdemeanor.

Migliorato’s next court date is Tuesday at 9 a.m., according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
