CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — More than one week after the abrupt closures of upscale grocery store chains Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen and Market, the food in at least one Chicago location appears to be going to waste.

As people walked by the Dom’s Kitchen and Market in Old Town, located on North Wells Street near West Goethe Street, they couldn’t help but look in the windows. The shelves are piled with food, and it looks like it’s ready for business.

“Everything’s in there, you can see through the glass,” said Joel Allvarado, who used to shop there.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository told WBBM that it would like to take the food but added that it has not received any response from the owners of Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen and Market.

Lawsuits have been filed over the sudden closure of the Dom’s and Foxtrot locations. Some former workers have demanded severance.

The owners of Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen and market have not responded to WBBM Newsradio’s request for comment.
