Minden, Iowa, residents say tornado recovery delayed by insurance
MINDEN, Iowa. (WOWT) - Joyce Zimmerman remembers the moments when an EF-3 tornado hit her house on April 26. “I passed my kitchen window, and as I glanced out, I could see a big evergreen coming out of the ground,” she said. “By the time I got to the foot of the steps... Arrest Made Following Shots Fired in Elkhorn North Parking Lot
(Elkhorn, NE) -- There was a shots fired call from the parking lot of Elkhorn North High School, about 1am last Monday, the third. Witnesses told Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies that one of at least four individuals who were armed with handguns fired several times into the air. Today, three suspects were taken into custody. 19-yr-old Lionel Johnson, 20-yr-old Brendan Helms, and a male juvenile. Police are still looking for 17-yr-old Aden Ashburn.

'Huge part of everything that we do': Booster club asking for help after band trailers damaged
OMAHA, Neb. — Hoping to help keep the music rolling, the Millard South Band Booster Club is asking for donations to repair the group's trailers. The booster club said one of the band's trailers was vandalized, and another is in need of restoration. The group said the trailer was vandalized after the last marching band season wrapped up around November. Millard South Band Booster Club co-president Jamion Aden said they've spent the past several months working to raise the funds to repair the damages, but now they're asking for the community's help.
