CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A Cranston school bus with 29 students on board was involved in a crash Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. on Phenix Avenue. Cranston police said a car stopped to let someone enter the Speedway parking lot when it was hit from behind by the bus.

The bus driver was unable to stop in time, according to police.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital for complaints of pain, but police said it wasn’t serious.

One of the students on the bus also complained of pain, but declined transport to the hospital.

Police said the car sustained significant damage and the bus sustained minor damage.

It was the fourth crash involving a school bus in the past several days. There was one on Central Street in Burrillville last Thursday afternoon, followed by another involving two buses in New Bedford on Monday morning and a third on I-95 in West Greenwich on Monday night.
