Sheriff: Woman dies in house fire due to unattended candle
NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - One person was killed in a house fire in Morehouse, Missouri early Monday morning. According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, Morehouse and Sikeston Fire personnel were called to a house fire in the 500 block of E. Pine Street at approximately 4 a.m. on May 27. A person was still inside the home.

Poplar Bluff man seriously injured after hitting deer with motorcycle
BUTLER COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash involving a deer early Saturday morning. It happened just before 4 a.m. on May 25. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 60-year-old Ronald D. Clark was driving a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Highway PP, just 8 miles west of Poplar Bluff. He struck a deer as he was traveling along the roadway, and his motorcycle overturned.
