CORTLAND COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — They’re back. Two skimming devices were located in Cortland County.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office investigated two machines that were found at a Gregg’s Supermarket, in the Town of Marathon, and another at a Save-a-Lot, in the Town of Cortlandville.

The devices were positioned on top of the actual credit card scanners in an effort to mimic the actual reader, according to the sheriff’s office.

It is advised that if you have checked out at these locations within the last week to monitor your credit cards and banking information. If there are any accrued charges that you believe to be fraudulent, contact your bank to report the activity.

The Sheriff’s Office would also like to remind all Citizens in the County that “if you see something unusual, say something” report the incident immediately by calling either 911 or (607)-753-3311.
