BARNUM, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Section quarterfinal football kicked off on Tuesday. In section 7AA, #2 Moose Lake/Willow River hosted #7 Greenway Nashwauk-Keewatin. The Rebels returned a pass for a pick-six in the first quarter as Ashton Holt ran it back 62 yards for a score. In the 2nd quarter Holt would do it on the other end with a receiving touchdown. Moose Lake/Willow River would win 28-6 and will face Deer River in the sectional semifinals.

Shorthanded Bulldogs to welcome in Gophers this weekend
This weekend, the 13th ranked UMD women's hockey team will welcome in 2nd ranked Minnesota for an early season WCHA clash. However, both teams come into the matchup shorthanded with UMD missing five players due to national team duties and Minnesota without three. That means the Bulldogs have just 15 total skaters, which is one of the fewest amount of players available that they've had in a game in program history.
