Lakeside man arrested on the charge of Assault II after using a knife during an argument
On April 23rd, 2024, at about 6:09 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a stabbing at the Seaport R.V. Park located at 72363 Hwy 101, Lakeside, Oregon. Dispatch further advised the disturbance was between family members. Sgt. J. Boswell, Deputy A. Churchill, an Oregon State Police Trooper, and medical personnel responded to the scene. The victim was tended to for a knife wound to the hand. The suspect, Anthony J. Carey (40), was located and arrested on the charge of Assault II. Mr. Carey was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and remains in custody.

Bandon man arrested on several charges after a report of a domestic assault
On April 20th, 2024, at 7:00 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center took a report of an assault that had occurred on Astor Lane just south of Bandon, Oregon. Deputies S. Starr and H. Francis responded and began investigating the incident. As a result of the investigation, Deputy S. Starr applied for and was granted a search warrant for the suspect, Shawn M. Brown’s (56) residence. The warrant was executed, items of evidence were seized, and Shawn M. Brown (56), who was inside, was arrested. Mr. Brown was charged with Assault IV Domestic, Menacing, Strangulation, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Resisting Arrest. Mr. Brown was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and remains in custody.
