New Postmaster at Stanley
Stanley Wisconsin has a new postmaster. Derek Zurakowski, age 53 of Thorp, is taking the place of retiring postmaster Steve Wiensch, who retired Jan. 31. Winter Boys Win Lakeland East Championship
Winter WI - The Winter Boys Basketball team hosted the Lake Holcombe Chieftians for the last game of the regular season for the Warriors. Previously, the Warriors and Chieftians squared off in Lake Holcombe, whereas the Warriors set a school record with 112 points in a 112-96 final score. Jacobson announces Assembly run
Republican Mosinee Mayor Brent Jacobson announced on Tuesday that he will run for State Assembly this fall in the newly created 87th District. Rep. James Edming, also a Republican, currently holds the seat for the 87th, which covers Sawyer, Rusk, Taylor, and the northwest side of Marathon County. After Gov. Tony Evers signed new legislative district maps into law, those boundaries will change dramatically. The new 87th Assembly District includes portions of Marathon, Shawano, Portage and Waupaca Counties.

Traditions Assisted Living in Thorp received over 1,200 Valentines delivered to their mailbox for residents to open on February 14th. As the residents opened the cards and gifts at their Valentine’s Day party, they were excited and surprised to see such a large amount delivered from caring community members.
