As if the Ohio State Buckeyes couldn’t get any better at recruiting five-star players, the Buckeyes have the 2025 No. 2 overall recruit in striking distance.

Five-star David Sanders Jr. made his second visit of the spring to Columbus, joined by his parents, three sisters, and grandparents, On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported . Sanders is the No. 1 ranked offensive tackle and No. 2 prospect overall in the 2025 college football recruiting cycle according to On3’s Industry Rankings .

“Ohio State is very real in this one. I put them in the lead group alongside Tennessee in my opinion. I am not discounting the others, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and South Carolina, I just like the way things are currently trending for the Buckeyes and Vols,” Wiltfong wrote.

This is certainly big news for the Buckeyes as they aim to reassert their dominance in the Big Ten Conference and claim their first national championship under head coach Ryan Day. The addition of the 6-foot-7, 275 lb. offensive tackle would further bolster protection for their star-studded offense.

Sanders has offers from other big-time programs such as the Georgia Bulldogs, South Carolina Gamecocks, Clemson Tigers, and Alabama Crimson Tide, however, Wiltfong believes the two programs leading the pack for his commitment are the Buckeyes and Tennessee Volunteers.
