A Paducah man was charged with assault of a police officer during a traffic stop in Mayfield on Friday. A Graves County deputy stopped a vehicle that was reported to be driving erratically on US 45 north of Mayfield. A computer check showed that the driver, 39-year-old Daniel Shannon, had a suspended license.
