Maxwell Mackie, an 8th grader at Louisa County Middle School, won the 2024 Louisa County Spelling Bee Contest. The Louisa County Board of Supervisors recognized him for this achievement. The contest, which included 30 participants, lasted for 14 rounds and 92 minutes. Suffolk man indicted by grand jury in Cabell Avenue abduction of UVa student
CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – A Charlottesville grand jury has returned two indictments against a Suffolk man accused of abducting a UVa student near Rugby Road last fall. Charges of abduction and malicious wounding have been returned against James Robert Allen who was arrested in Louisa County the day after allegedly dragging a UVa student into his vehicle the night of October 4 on Cabell Avenue that soon crashed.
