In today’s column, we will be remembering some old cement companies in Bath and Nazareth. The plants provided employment for many of our local residents. Pocono Township Police Department to host Coffee with a Cop on Saturday
The Pocono Township Police Department will be holding a Coffee with a Cop event at Nick's Big Belly Deli in Scotrun on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon. According to Patrol Sgt. Eric Rath, the event will be held for its second year, with last year's event being held at a Dunkin' in Tannersville.

Stroudsburg woman pleads guilty to making false statements to buy firearms in Monroe County
A Monroe County woman has pled guilty to conspiring to straw purchase firearms. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, 44-year-old Yesenia Ramos, of Stroudsburg, pled guilty on May 6 for her role in making false statements to federally licensed firearms dealers in purchasing firearms across Monroe County. ...

NEWTON — The town may soon deploy swordfish to search its water lines for lead pipes, as it seeks to remove the hazardous metal from its more-than-century-old water system.
