Charge dropped for woman accused in 2022 Paris Road gas station shooting case

A woman who was originally charged in relation to a 2022 shooting at a Paris Road gas station in Columbia saw her charges dropped on Monday.

Boone County Prosecutor Roger Johnson told ABC 17 News in an email that Jasmine Bell saw her first-degree assault charge dropped because of her cooperation and testimony against Terrance Johnson.

Terrance Andra Johnson was found guilty on March 6 of first-degree assault, shooting a gun at a motor vehicle/person, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. He was sentenced on April 22 to 14 years in prison. He appealed the decision to the Western District Court of Missouri.

A probable cause statement filed in Bell's case names the victim with the initials C.W. The statement, relying on surveillance video, says C.W. was in a red car and Johnson was in a white SUV. The two got into an argument after the red car backed up to pull beside the SUV, the statement says.

C.W. got out and back into the car, which drove a short distance away, the statement says. Johnson then got out of the SUV with a rifle and shot several times at the red car, according to the statement

Police determined Bell was with Johnson after seeing her get out of the vehicle on surveillance video at Johnson's apartment, according to the statement . Johnson was arrested in January 2023 in St. Louis.
