MADISON COUNTY — Nathan Miller got what he was seeking from the Madison County Board at its most recent meeting, approval of a special use permit for him to operate a landscaping services business at 8140 Lebanon Road south of Troy, but with the requirement that he add bathroom facilities for his nine employees at the site.
4 Metro East police departments will supply additional officers to patrol MetroLink
Four Metro East towns have started supplying additional police officers to patrol around MetroLink stations. Under an agreement reached with Bi-State Development, which operates the region’s light-rail system, and the St. Clair County Transit District, the Belleville, Fairview Heights, Shiloh and Swansea police departments began allowing off-duty officers to monitor platforms and parking lots last month.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis city police are investigating a shooting that injured a teen Thursday night in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. 4 inmates stabbed at Mo. jail during fight between detainees
ST. LOUIS — Four detainees at the city’s downtown jail were stabbed and injured in a fight Wednesday afternoon. Monte Chambers, a spokesperson for the city Department of Public Safety, said the trouble started around 1:20 p.m. when a guard sent out a distress call about a disturbance in one of the jail pods.
