Accident on south I-255 in St. Clair County
Traffic is now getting back on one lane in the area. Expect delays until the full scene in cleared. Authorities are still on the scene of a reported fatal crash on I-255 southbound in St. Clair County. The crash took place around 5:30 this morning near the Camp Jackson Road exit near Cahokia Heights and has all lanes closed. Traffic was being rerouted onto Highway 157 and there are still backups in that area.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis prosecutors last week refiled upgraded charges against a man accused of fatally shooting an 18-year-old who was breaking into his truck in 2022. Arnaud Jones, 42, is now facing a count of first-degree murder, upgraded from second-degree.
